On the afternoon of May 23rd, the opening ceremony of 2018 Workshop on Chinese and Culture with Laval University in Canada took place in the No. 327 conference room of the International Office of Exchange and Cooperation. Vice President of HNU Li Dazhi attended the ceremony. Tang Cunzhong, Vice Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office presided over the ceremony.

Li Dazhi gave a warm welcome to the group from Laval University. He briefed some basic information on HNU and reviewed on events of the collaboration and its fruitful results. He stated that the summer workshop was a momentous project and received strong support from the Chinese government. He hoped in this project students and faculty members of both universities would learn from one another, deepen common understanding and enhance our friendship, thereby strengthening the communication and collaboration of two sides.

Li Shengwen, a professor of history from Laval University extended his gratitude for the warm reception. He put forward that the workshop was conducive to students’ Chinese language learning and enriched their academic life. He hoped that students would seized this opportunity to study attentively, making further improvements on their Chinese language skills and Chinese cultural accomplishment.

Both sides exchanged gifts and took pictures together.

Laval University and HNU had established a relations for 10 years since the year 2008. This is the 6th visit.

All the students from the workshop and persons in charge from HNU attended this opening ceremony.
