On the morning of October 27th, the delegation led by Isabelle Gaudron, vice president of the centre region of France, visited Hunan Normal University, and Jiang Xinmiao, vice president of HNU, received them warmly in meeting room on the fourth floor of the Red Building. Liu Yuxia, director of the Foreign and Oversea Chinese Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Hunan Province, also attended the meeting which was hosted by Tang Jianwen, director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation.
Vice President Jiang extended his welcome to the delegation from the centre region of France, and introduced the basic situation of our HNU. He said that HNU attached great importance to international exchanges and cooperation and has established ties with 150 universities and institutions. HNU paid great attention to communicate with France. With the joint efforts of both sides, teachers and students in HNU have many ways to study in France in recent years. Since 2006, HNU has received 4 delegations from the centre region of France and has sent 2 delegations to visit the centre region which were warmly treated. He pointed out that it is the fifty-second anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, and he hoped that the French delegation's visit would further the bilateral negotiations for the implementation of Confucius Institute, and thus could promote projects of Confucius Institute, Sino-french teaching, etc. and exchanges and study in culture, academy of two sides and so on.
Isabelle Gaudron thanked HNU for the warm reception. And she hoped to take this opportunity to deepen the friendly relationship with HNU.
Olivier Fallon, director of international cooperation of the centre region of France appreciated the students of HNU for their good performance in study. He said that it’s the thirty-fifth year for centre region of France to cooperate with Hunan.And both HNU and the centre region of Francehave made great progress in the cooperationof economy, teaching and cultural exchanges, thus he hoped to strengthen French teaching in Hunan and Chinese teaching in the central region of France in the future to launch the program of French Alliance in HNU.
Marek, the French Consulate General in Wuhan, said that he supported the establishment of Confucius College in the centre region, and promised to fully support, and he also expected HNU to make more contributions to it.
Present were Caroline Paris, office of Asian region project in the Centre Region of French, Ke Min, head of the French Higher Education Department in Wuhan, Wang Peiwen, chairman of Friendship with China Association in Montargis City, Remy Harregaut, congress man of the Asian affairs in the central region, Ynes, special correspondent sent from the centre region of France in Hunan, Liao Guangrong, vice president of Foreign Studies College, along with relevant personnel of the Foreign and Oversea Chinese Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Hunan Province.
