Zhou Junwu Headed a Delegation to Visit Some Universities in Britain and Ireland

From April 19th to 25th , Zhou Junwu, vice president of Hunan Normal University, headed a delegation to visit Bath Spa University, Leeds Beckett University,Leeds International Academy of Football,University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), and Dublin Institute of Technology on invitation.
     

On April 20th,the delegation went to BSU and visited the first-approved European digital training base in BSU. They had a talk with Neil Samnells, vice president of BSU, Fuda Genmin, dean of the office of international admission and cooperation, and Patricia Black, director of teacher education center. Later, the two sides reached a consensus on the agreement of exchange and cooperation, and the schema of cultivating excellent graduates.


In the morning of 21
st, the delegation went to LBU and LIAF,and then visited its laboratory of sports science and football training base. They held a meeting with Jeanne Keay, vice president of LBU, Rhodri Thomas, dean of school of hospitality and tourism management, Chioe Hudson, director of international cooperation office, and Peter Smith, dean of LIAF. After a discussion about the exchange of football coaches and the cooperation on students training and sports education, an agreement was reached on the cooperation channels and modes.      


In the afternoon of 21
st, the delegation went to UCLan, and visited its laboratory of sports science. They met with Mike Thomas, president of UCLan, Tim Steele, executive vice president of UCLan, Nigel Harrion, director of health and welfare department, and Ge Jifei, manager of China district. Consensus was reached on joint cultivation and cooperation on football subject. In addition, the two sides set up the framework of the coming cooperation projects


In the afternoon of 22
nd, the delegation met Lei Fengyun, general representative of China Association for International Exchange of Personnel Representative Office in U.K. Mr.Zhou Junwu extended his gratitude to Mr.Lei for his support to HNU in deepening international cooperation and promoting its development. He also briefed on the current situation of HNU. Mr.Lei gave his suggestion on international exchanges and cooperation, showing willingness of supporting HNU to cooperate and communicate with universities in the U.K.      


In the morning of 24th, the delegation visited the
Dublin Institute of Technology in Ireland and met Vice president Michael Devereux, Dean of Tourism College Dominic Dillane. The two sides reached consensus on signing cooperative agreement, jointly cultivating outstanding undergraduates and providing programs for teachers of two universities to obtain PhD.


In the afternoon of 24th, the delegation went to the Chinese embassy in Ireland and visited A
mbassador Yue Xiaoyong. Mr. Zhou gave an introduction of HNU to the ambassador and briefed on the current cooperation between HNU and universities in Ireland and the aims and achievement of the visit this time. Ambassador Yue Xiaoyong introduced the development of Ireland universities and gave advice to HNU on expanding cooperation with Ireland universities. He expressed that the embassy in Ireland will provide supports from different aspects.

Vice Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, Tang Cunzhong, Vice Dean of Tourism College, He Xiaorong.
