Delegation Led By Consul General of French Consulate General in Wuhan visits HNU

On the afternoon of April 19th, Li Min,Secretary of the CPC HNU Committee, met with the delegation led by Gui Yonghua, Consul General of French Consulate General in Wuhan, at NO.2 meeting room of president’s office buildnig.Li Dazhi,vice presidentof HNU, presided over the meeting.  

Li Min warmly welcomed Gui Yonghua and his delegation, gave a brief introduction to HNU's development and international exchange, and invited him to participate in HNU's 80th anniversary events. Li Min pointed out that HNU attaches great importance to the cooperation with France and has signed friendly exchange and cooperation agreements with several French universities. HNU is now engaging actively with Université de Tours François Rabelais on co-establishing a Confucious Institute. Support from both the Consul General and the French Consulate General in Wuhan is needed to promote the language and cultural exchange between China and France.

Gui Yonghua expressed his appreciation to HNU's warm reception and highly praised the progress that has been achieved in the cooperation between HNU and French universities. He indicated that the French Consulate General in Wuhan will give its full support to HNU for its development to achieve a closer cooperation between both countries.

A discussion was held on how to provide HNU students with more and better opportunities for cooperation and exchange. After the conference, Gui Yonghua, together with delegation members, went to Foreign Studies College to communicate with the French majors. Campus France centered in Wuhan gave students from Foreign Studies College a report on the information of studying abroad in France.

Present at the meeting are staff members from French Consulate General in Wuhan as well as heads of relevant functional departments andcolleges.
