On the morning of November 7th, Huang Yage, executive director of SUU Confucious Institute, Kevin Garrett, associate superintendent of Irony County School District, Jannette Stubbs and other members of the delegation paid a visit to HNU. Ma Zongbao, vice president of HNU received the delegation at the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation. And Li Miao, vice director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, presided over the welcome ceremony.
Ma Zongbao said that HNU always has close culture exchanges and cooperative partnership with SUU since the establishment of SUU Confucious Institute. He said that Changsha, boasting a long history and glorious culture, was the cradle of Xiang culture. He wished visitors could appreciate the charm of Changsha in their spare time.
Kevin Garrett expressed his thank for HNU's warm reception. He thought that the present educational trend was the globalization-oriented communication. They were expecting to deepen the understanding of China through the connection with HNU.
Jannette Stubbs said that schools should attach importance to students' life beyond study, motivate them to explore and understand the world actively and fully train and shape students.
Huang Yage introduced the history of SUU. The Confucious Institute of SUU was the youngest of the 108 Confucious Institutes in the USA. And he said the success of the Confucious Institute of SUU mainly resulted from the cooperation between Office of Chinese Language Council International, HNU and SUU.
Relevant person in charge from the four primary schools in the USA expressed their gratitude for HNU's support and assistance in terms of education. They all showed strong willingness to learn and spread the extensive and profound Chinese culture.
