On the morning of December12th, the meeting of the ninthcouncil of Kazan Federal University’s Confucius Institute was held in the second floor of the office building in HNU. Yang Ling, dean of International College of Chinese Language and Culture in HNU, served as a host. Zainullin, Russian dean of Kazan Federal University’s Confucius Institute, and Jiang Hongxin, vice President of HNU, were present.    

Mr.Jiang extended his warm welcome to the delegation led by Zainullin.Looking back through the history of Kazan Federal University’s Confucius Institute, he pointed out that Confucius Institute, an important platform for Chinese education, can help Russian students learn more about China and help both China and Russia deepen the friendship. Mr.Jiang said that Kazan Federal University’s Confucius Institute has stayed for almost 10 years, and its future was promising; he hoped that relevant staff from both Kazan Federal University’s Confucius Institute and HNU would make great contribution to the development of Confucius Institute both in its teaching quality and its essential value; he expected that it can become a global prototype of Confucius Institute and thus make some records on mutual cooperation and friendship of both sides.

Zainullin showed his gratitude for the warm reception from HNU. He said that Kazan Federal University’s Confucius Institute has become one of the best Confucius Institutes in Russia, which was dependent on the support and help from HNU. And he also mentioned that it had a promising prospect since more and more Russian students have developed great interest in learning Chinese and a sinology center was set up based on Chinese teaching. Andhe invited professors from HNU to give lectures in Kazan Federal University’s Confucius Institute.    

And then, Li Lanyi, Chinese dean of Kazan Federal University’s Confucius Institute, made an report about this year on teaching scale, activities, scientific research, culture and education exchange and so on. And she introduced its working plan in 2017 and the arrangement for the 10th anniversary. She promised that the institute would make efforts to strengthen their faculty and students.
