LIU Qijun was born in June, 1971 in Qidong, Hunan province. He is aprofessor, Ph.Dsupervisor and president of Hunan Normal University.

Education Background and Work Experience

LIU graduated from the Department of Political Science, Hunan Normal University, and got his doctor’s degree of laws in 2006. He once served as the student counsellor at the Department of Political science, secretary and deputy director of the Party Committee Office, deputy director of the Industry Office, deputy director of the Fixed Asset Management Office, director of the Publicity Department of the the CPC HNU Committee, director of the President’s Office, Vice President of HNU. He has been the Deputy Secretary of the CPC HNU Committee since November, 2015.  

Primary Academic Activities and Achievements

LIU Qijun has been doing research on the history of the CPC and the higher education management. He formerly presided over a key project of the National Social Science Fund of China, five research projects of provincial-level, and three scientific researches on teaching of department level. LIUalso published a monograph called Research on Jiang Zemin’s Thoughts on the Governance Security, and more than thirty papers in Guangming Daily, Contemporary World and Socialism as well as other newspapers and periodicals, many of which were reprinted in the Books and Newspapers Data Center of Renmin University of China and China University Academic Abstracts. His On the Basic Attributes of the Scientific Outlook on Development was rated as an excellent theoretical article by the Publicity Department of the CPC. Besides, he won the second prize of the 11th Hunan Provincial Award for Outstanding Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences, the Hunan Provincial Excellent Doctorate Paper Award, and the first prize of the Hunan Provincial Contest for papers on moral education. The Publicity Department of the Hunan Provincial Committee rated him as a “First-class Researcher on the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in Hunan Province”. LIU is now the Vice President of Hunan Political Science Association and Hunan Association of World Economics and Politics and History of International Communist Movement.
